Gigi's Beef Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef

  • 1 pound Hot Breakfast Sausage

  • 1 Onion, diced

  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, diced

  • 1 Jalapeño, diced

  • 5 cloves Garlic, diced

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 2 teaspoons Black Pepper

  • 2 teaspoons Oregano

  • 2 teaspoons Cumin

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Chili Powder

  • 1 can Rotel Tomatoes & Chilis

  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes

  • 1 can Chopped Green Chilis

  • 1 tablespoon Sugar

  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire

  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup

  • 1 can Chili Beans (optional)


For Garnish:

  • Cheddar Cheese, shredded

  • Onion, diced

  • Pickled Jalapeño Slices

  • Yellow Mustard

  • Chow Chow

  • Corn Chips

Preparation

  • Brown the beef and sausage over medium high heat. Drain off the excess grease.  

  • Add the onions, bell pepper, garlic, & jalapeño. Stir over the heat for a few minutes.

  • Add the salt, pepper, oregano, cumin, & chili power. Stir to combine & then add the remaining ingredients.

  • Simmer for about 10 minutes, then cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.


  • Garnish with desired toppings.

  • Delicious served on hotdogs or with Frito chips.
